Ventura County Main Jail (Pre-Trial Detention Facility - PTDF)

The Ventura County Main Jail is the largest of the main jails. After opening in 1980, the PTDF was double bunked after only being able to house 400 inmates in the single-bed cells. According to the Sheriff's Office, it is now able to house approximately 890 sentenced and unsentenced people. They process over 29,000 bookings and releases each year from arrests of every law enforcement agency in Ventura County.

Todd Road Jail (TRJ)

Todd Road Jail was built in 1995 and has a total housing capacity of 796 people. It houses a majority of unsentenced inmates. This is an Inmate Service facility which provides a wide variety of academic and vocational opportunities to the people housed in the detention facilities.

East Valley Jail

The other booking facility is the East - Ventura County Jail located in Thousand Oaks and built in 1989. It has a total capacity of less than 50. It is ran under the Main Jail as another booking site that allows easier access for policemen on the east side of the county. It is a local detention facility that detains an arrestee for no more than 96 hours after booking. This jail also accepts arrestees from all law agencies in the county.
